Last week, I went for a special "adventure" called Akadi Lumina. It is a brand new activity (since August only) where you walk along a path in the woods, at night. The path is about 1.5 km long and includes various areas representing different aspects of the life and history of the Acadians.
I didn't have the best camera as I only had my smartphone. It took some good pictures but here is one taken by my son. It might not seem like it but it was very dark. You can see a better sample of this experience in this video (this is just a YouTube video of someone else who visited).
I would give this experience an 8/10. If you ever plan to go to Bouctouche, check it out. The season closes on October 14 but you can plan for a visit next year.
Have you ever attended a light show from Lumina? (they have 17 around the world) Come and chat in the chitchat thread.
On the blog
This week, we have the last post in our series on Design Principles. This time, we are looking at FLOW.
The newest challenge in the forum is the SKETCH Challenge. That is always a good challenge for someone who feels uninspired. It turns out to be a good starting point, even though you can customize it further.
Remember that all the past challenges are always open so if you want to participate in something that was posted weeks ago, you can still do it!
In the classroom
On Sunday, October 1st, we will have our monthly live class. We will look at various filters from Filter Forge that you can use for Halloween-themed projects.
And if you are interested in getting FilterForge 12, there will be something special for you!
Our finished workshop
The Magazine Workshop is officially finished, although the tutorials are still going to be available until Sunday, October 1st. You still have time to complete those pages.
Check out the forum thread for great inspiration. And remember to fill out the survey!
In case you missed it
In light of the upcoming Master Class about using Filter Forge, you might be wondering how to add all those filters you find interesting. But search no more!
Christmas is only 3 months away, but Santa is already getting ready, and the elves are taking classes on the newest tools, supplies, and technologies.
Do you have a special child/grandchild you care for? Encourage literacy with monthly letters from the North Pole, and the October letters will be mailed next Tuesday.
